Dr Iván Székely CSc, social informatist, is an internationally known expert in the multidisciplinary fields of data protection and freedom of information. A founder of the newly democratic informational-legal system in Hungary, Székely is at present Senior Research Fellow and Counsellor at Blinken OSA. He is a member of several international research groups, member of the Scientific Committee of the annual Computers, Privacy and Data Protection conferences, Chair of the Editorial Board of the bi-lingual journal Information Society. His studies and publications, as well as his research interests, focus on information autonomy, openness and secrecy, privacy, identity, surveillance and resilience, memory and forgetting, and archivistics.
