The Blinken OSA Research Room is open, welcoming researchers throughout the summer. Please do not forget reserving a time slot prior to your visit, bringing your Hungarian or EU Covid Certificate, and wearing a mask during your stay. For remote research, use our Digitization on Demand service.

ONLINE TIME SLOT RESERVATION

Visiting Blinken OSA is allowed only and exclusively with a valid Hungarian or EU COVID-19 vaccination health card, as well as valid online reservation for that day. Reserve your time slot here. The maximum time you can reserve is 4 hours/day.

ENTERING THE BUILDING

When you arrive, disinfect your hands, present your health card, and give your name to the Receptionist. Please leave your bags and other belongings in the lockers, and bring only the necessary tools to the Research Room. Bring your own face mask and protective gloves.

IN THE RESEARCH ROOM

Once in the Research Room, please wait for the Reference Archivist in service to show your place. Wear your protective mask and gloves, and keep the social distance. We encourage researchers to make as many digital images as possible to shorten the time in the Research Room, so that other researchers can have access to the facility. In case you do not have a camera or smartphone, the Reference Archivist will lend you a digital camera.

DIGITIZATION ON DEMAND

If visiting the Research Room in person is not an option, you can use our Digitization on Demand service. Before making a request, please check our Digital Repository and Curated Collections. For members of the CEU community and Visegrad fellows, this service is free of charge. Other researchers will be charged according to Blinken OSA’s standard price list.

LATEST ADDITIONS TO THE CATALOG

The past months, our catalog has been complemented with new additions, such as the Digital Archive of Cultural Heritage, the Records of the American Refugee Committee’s Balkan Programs, or the new series of the subfond Western Press Archives. Also, researching the Black Box Recordings of the Opposition Roundtable Negotiations is now assisted by a detailed finding aids both in English and in Hungarian.
