The Vera and Donald Blinken Open Society Archives at Central European University (CEU) invites applications for a full-time (40-hour/week) Receptionist position starting on March 18, 2019.

The Vera and Donald Blinken Open Society Archives (OSA) at Central European University (CEU) is a complex archival institution. OSA is both a repository of important collections, primarily related to the history of the Cold War and grave international human rights violations, and a laboratory of archival experiments on new ways of assessing, contextualizing, presenting, and making use of archival documents. Duties and responsibilities:

Duties include greeting visitors, receiving and transferring calls, and registering incoming and outgoing mail at the reception desk. Under the supervision of the OSA Head of Administration, the Receptionist is expected to cover certain office duties. He/she delivers incoming/outgoing internal mail between the buildings of the Central European University and OSA. He/she participates in organizing and assisting during public events.

Besides covering the reception desk, the new colleague is also expected to take part in the work of the Archives.

Qualifications:

* Professional and relevant experience

* High School Graduate

* Native/fluent Hungarian

* Intermediate English

* Basic computer skills

* Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

* Good problem-solving and organizational skills

* Reliability and accuracy

Compensation

We offer a competitive salary that is commensurate with experience as well as a dynamic and international academic environment. The initial contract is until July 31, 2019 with the possibility of extension.
