Scope and content
A short propaganda piece advertising the Rudé právo daily. Most probably taped in 1948 when Rude pravo merged with Právo lidu and became the flagship of the Czechoslovak Communist party propaganda.
The beginning of the movie refers to the adoption of the Czechoslovak constitution of 1948 and it represents the newspapers as the major contemporary source of information, superior to the radio or films. Furthermore, it describes the variety of the information the newspapers can provide for its readers. The second part of the movie presents how the newspapers are produced - from the work of journalists and editors up to the printing and delivery process - in line with the socialist propaganda promoting the image of working proletariat.
The main idea of the piece is to promote the image that the newspaper production is systematic and precise, that the work of a journalist is heavy (24/7), that it is punctual and accurate, and thus it is truthful and trustful.Finding aids
