Scope and content

The fonds consists of one series which includes the overwhelmingly raw footage video recordings created by Rodolf Hervé during the period 1990-1997 when he lived in Budapest. In the early transition years Hervé became part of the flourishing alternative cultural life in Budapest, both as its keen documenter and a visual artist. His recordings made at the various pubs, exhibitions and performances are a valuable source for researchers interested in the alternative culture of the era.

The recordings of the urban landscape and of people of Budapest, as well as experiments with various media, are raw material for art projects.
