Scope and content

The series consists of documents, photographs, background studies, research materials, shooting plans, scripts, dialogue lists, interviews, promotional materials of films, and media coverage of Schiffer's documentaries from Hungary and abroad. Materials include documentation of films By the Danube (A Dunánál) 1987; The Dávid Family (A Dávid család) 1981-85; Earthly Paradise (Földi paradicsom ) 1982. Studies and reports of prominent (dissident) sociologists such as Zsolt Csalog, Pál Juhász, László Kardos, Bálint Magyar (1956 and the Hungarian Villages) and Gábor Havas are valuable parts of the personal papers' collection.
