Archival history

In 1996 the Open Society Archives initiated and sponsored an oral history project which resulted in its present collection of a series of interviews with Soviet dissidents and former Communist Party functionaries, and with their relatives. The interviews were conducted in Russia in 1996-1997 by a prominent Hungarian historian, professor Miklos Kun.

Scope and content

Approximately 50 hours of oral history interviews with former Soviet dissidents and Communist Party functionaries, as well as with their relatives.
Transcripts and summaries of oral history interviews, including biographies.
