- HU OSA 116C International Science Foundation
Scope and content
The files contain the press-clippings that were gathered by the ISF staff from the Former Soviet Union press, especially that of the Russian Federation, and from the foreign press including Nature, Science, New Yorker etc. The clippings are related to the activities of the ISF itself and George Soros. Additionally, they cover activities of the Central European University, the Open Society Institute Moscow, and other charity foundations, for example, the MacArthur Foundation, INTAS, and the Soros Network Programs - Internet and ISSEP (International Soros Science Education Program). Of particular interest are materials related to the development of science in the Russian Federation and political events connected with the functioning of the ISF. Recurring charges against ISF in 1994-5, for espionage and buying up scientific information, led to the hearing in Russian Parliament. The outcome was clear recognition of ISF achievements by Russian government.Accruals Not expected
